This unforgettable hike in the Bernese Oberland offers many remarkable features, including the beautiful mountain lake Sulsseewli and breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau from the Lobhorn Hut. The Lobhorn Hut is nestled on a splendid terrace overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley, providing an ideal vantage point to admire these iconic Swiss Alps on a clear, sunny day.

While many people go for a direct route from Sulwald to the Lobhorn Hut and back, a more diverse and enjoyable experience can be found by starting from Grütschalp (accessible by cable car from Lauterbrunnen) and ending in Sulwald. This circular trail allows you to appreciate various landscapes and natural elements along the way.

Your journey begins with a serene, shaded stroll through the Marcheggwald from Grütschalp. As the landscape opens up, you'll encounter quintessential alpine scenery near Sousläger, characterized by expansive meadows, rustic mountain huts, grazing cows, and a meandering mountain stream.

The mesmerizing Sulsseewli, a tranquil mountain lake, serves as the next highlight on the trail. On calm, windless days, the majestic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau are perfectly reflected on its serene surface. Just a short distance from this awe-inspiring panorama, you'll arrive at Lobhornhütte, where you can enjoy a leisurely break on the terrace while taking in the magnificent mountain vistas.

After a rejuvenating pause, you'll embark on a rocky, hour-long descent to Sulwald. At Sulwald Stübli we can have lunch or snack. From here we go down to Isenfluh with a little cable car and then with the bus back to Lauterbrunnen.
